Every coach has said it at one time or another. And it’s a fact. The team who comes up with the most GBs is the tougher, grittier team and can fully control the pace of the game through possession time.

No one can argue with that. However, not all ground balls were created equal. Uncontested, open-field ground balls still go in the stat book, even if the player dropped the rock himself. There is one part of our great game that has complete power to shift momentum in one fell swoop.

The last year has brought quite a bit of change for Stonehill’s men’s lacrosse team.
Our team banquet at the end of the 2008 season was a time for reflecting on the past, assessing our present situation and planning for the future. We came to the realization that the PCLL is not what it was 4 or 5 years ago.

Stonehill College is a small school - 2,347 students to be precise. In the past we could compete with much bigger schools, largely a credit to our program’s organization and our players’ dedication. The same was true for other small PCLL schools like WPI and Bridgewater State. ( more...)

2008 PCLL Fall League Meeting
Easton, MA (October 26, 2008) - The Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League (PCLL) conducted its 2008 Fall meeting on Sunday at Stonehill College in preparation for the 2009 lacrosse season. In an eventful meeting, some highlights were the election of a new Commissioner and Vice Commissioner, the admittance of Briarcliffe College to Division II, and the re-alignment of Division II.
